In all attempts to keep this sort of fellowship going on these boards, I bring you Shattered Union; This forum game is based on a computer game of the same name.
Story
In 2009, following George W. Bush's eight year term in office, Barack Obama is elected the 44th President of the United States of America, and grows a very low approval rating, becoming the most unpopular president in U.S. history. A dramatic amount of civil unrest and rioting springs up all throughout the United States, resulting in domestic terrorism. In response, President Obama uses the Homeland Security Act and declares martial law on many areas of the country.
During the election of 2012, the Supreme Court of the United States disqualifies all the presidential candidates from holding office, effectively awarding Obama with a second term. The public reacts violently when incumbent Obama accepts his next term.
During the Inauguration Day in Washington, D.C. on January 21, 2013, a low-yield tactical nuclear weapon is detonated in an apparent groundburst, presumably having been concealed there in advance. The yield is sufficient to destroy most of the city, killing Obama, his cabinet, and most of the U.S. Congress. The United States plunges into chaos.
The European Union parliament meets in an emergency session, and votes to send peacekeepers to the greater DC area to secure international interests. Separatist sentiment begins to rise in America. On national television, the governor of California declares home rule, and secedes from the Union on April 15, 2013. Texas follows a few days later, taking neighboring states with them, and re-forming the Republic of Texas as the People's Republic of New Texas. By 2014, all hopes for a peaceful resolution are gone, and the Second American Civil War begins.

Gameplay
The goal is to do your best to lead or follow a squad of your team-mates into battle against another "nation". Everyone's goal is simple: Reform The USA in their own views.
Use italics for actions, and " " quotation marks for quotes and speaking.
Factions
Each "nation" has their own Army. However, to allow for easier play, the main battlefield will be in New York City. Players can be of any nationality, as long as their bio makes sense.
New America (N)- Essentially the Union from the Civil War. Still holds the same ideals and morals of the Old USA. Best armed out of all the other nations. Supported by the European Union
New America (S)- A modern CSA (Confederate States of America). Soldiers in high numbers, but training is absent.
The Republic of The Midwest- Moderate Army, Strong Industry, but lacks modern technology and settlements
The Peoples Republic of New Texas- Chinese supported Communist Republic. Army is gargantuan, but badly equipped. Industry is well. Strong Naval presence in the Gulf
Arizona & New Mexico- The badlands. Barely inhabited. Used as a place of Asylum by convicts and political enemies of the "nations".
Utah- Unarmed republic, held mostly by Mormons. Protected only by a Crisis Response Unit and Border Guards.
Open Sky Republic- Small, barely populated Plains states. Maintains only a militia to protect itself. Supported by Russia.
Californian Co-Operative- The main enemy of New America. Holds the strongest and second best equipped army in the Country. Maintains a strong relationship with Canada and Mexico.

After retiring from the army, he decided to try his hand in politics, filling a spot left open by the recently deceased alderman of the 48th ward. He made real stands against corruption and spending. In 2011, the people of Chicago, sick of liberal politics in Washington, elected Richard Strike running on the tea party platform. He was the first conservative mayor in over 80 years. As mayor, Strike single-handedly struck down all imposing legislation against business, deregulated services, and cut taxes. In the process, Strike gained significant hate from Washington. All national stimuli were cut, and Strike promptly took to privatizing such institutions as schools, hospitals, and transportation. While the costs of these services did increase, so did the quality, and they started turning profits for the first time in their history. When Washington was destroyed, adjoining states looked to Chicago for guidance, effectively forming the Republic of the Midwest, using the US constitution as a model of government. General consensus dictated Strike should lead in the defence of the new nation, though Strike prefers to do so in the field.

Work: Galtinback worked for a long time in the law profession, graduating law school in 1997 at the age of 19. A long time prodigy, he went onto work as a law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. In 2003, it is said that Galtinback discovered the sequence that would eventually lead to the development of a cure for AIDS. Certain conspiratists believe that Galtinback's office was ransacked by Government Agents and the sequence either stolen or destroyed. Regardless, Galtinback's research was all for naught.
Galtinback wrote several entries in the Harvard Law Review which logically proved the USA PATRIOT ACT to be Unconstitutional, immoral, and a violation of human rights. He also attacked the Bush, Clinton, and Reagan Administrations for their destruction of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Galtinback disappeared between 2007 and 2009 but was arrested in Pittsburgh in New America for claiming that New America was no true successor to the United States because of it's violation of States' rights and its' violation of first amendment rights. He was exiled to NM and AZ, where he founded a community of like-minded citizens whose motto is "Sic Semper Tyrranis" (death to tyrants) and whose job is to promote individual liberty over the consolidation of power.

Roope was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1994. He was conscripted into the Finnish army just before the American crisis started. His year of mandatory service was supposed to be over in December of 2013 but instead he was deployed to America with the Guard Jaeger Regiment. He does not understand why Finland has involved themselves in this war and sees no reason for them to be here other than pressure from the rest of the European Union. His main concern is making it out of America alive.

The scenario for the first battle is as follows:
The CCO is attacking New York from the West, while the NA(N) Army is evacuating civilians at the Ferry stations across the city. The NA(S) is also attacking, trying to take out both the CCO and NA(N).
Game Start.
Aleksy loads his 416 as he looks from the C-130 down to the ground, watching shells explode and helicopters crashing.
"Jump on 3! Three! Two! One! Go-Go!" says the lead jumper
Aleksy slings his 416 as he exits the plane and deploys his chute, and floats gently down to the ground, landing on Staten Island
Volker stares out the window of the American Black Hawk as it comes in for a landing on Staten Island. As it lands, Volker cocks his G11 and throws open the door, stepping out to see NA(N) troops setting up as more parachute in from the sky above
"Such a beautiful and sunny day, but alas, it will soon be shattered by explosions and gunfire. Hopefully it will end with a victory for us though."
Volker leads his platoon to an American Colonel, who tells him his orders are to link up with the 173rd Brigade ASAP
"We will link up with them as soon as we find them, thank you Colonel"
With this, Volker slings his rifle and heads off in the direction the Colonel gave to where that specific brigade is supposed to have landed
Regrouping with his squadron, Aleksy is given his first orders. Secure an CH-53 crash on the Northern Part of the Island, search for any survivors, and destroy the crash
"Let's hope this battle doesn't last long, nor this war."
Aleksy and his comrades mount up in HMMWVs and head to the North of the Island
As Volker and his men come across the 173rd brigade, the Americans are already leaving on Humvees, Volker tries to flag them down, but is paid no attention
"Scheitza! Now we follow the damn Yankees! Quickly, procure us some of their transport!"
A trio of men from Volker's platoon hurry off, and minutes later arrive with a pair of Stryker APCs
"Perfect, now, where have the Americans gone off to"
Volker inquires about the 173rd to a young Private, who tells him they were headed for a helicopter crash on the north of the island
"Alright, mount up men, we will follow the Americans and try to link up with them at the crash site"
Volker and his men load up into the American APCs, and with this they head off Northwards

Aleksy's men arrive at the crashed helicopter, seeing it pillaged by NA(S) troops. The gunners begin firing on them with their .50s, and the soldiers drop very quickly.
"Alright men, look for any survivors, and then plant C4. I have orders to then move onto a Ferry and hit Manhattan after our Fighter Planes hit them."
Aleksy reloads his 416 and hops back into a HMMWV as it heads for the Staten Island Ferry
Already anticipating the moves up the American troops, Volker orders his drivers to bypass the crash site and head straight for the ferry terminal. As they pass, a Humvee pulls onto the road behind them followed by others
"That must be the 173rd Brigade, finally we will meet up with them at the terminal."

Strike sits in his office in city hall, a mess from the piles of new legislation pouring in from other states.
He signs a contract with the Midwest Arms Manufacturing plant for 15000 more rifles, and stands up to look out the window. Before him is a new mecca of industry. Zoning and wage deregulation has nearly tripled manufacturing output, and population has increased accordingly.
Strike walks back to his desk, and forwards the rest of his paperwork to the various temporary boards to handle. One day a congress will be set up, but now there are more pressing matters to attend to.
As they move up, a Californian CO Type 99 Tank pulls out from behind brush, and fires, hitting and destroying a HMMWV, killing all those inside.
Aleksy, shellshocked, leaps out of his own HMMWV and hits the ground, crawling with his rifle as he attempts to regain focus
The MGS in the convoy begins firing on the tank, and knocks off it's turret, at the expense of all of it's ammunition and heavy damage to it's armor
Suddenly explosions shake the APC as a NA South tank breaks from the brush and opens up on the Humvees behind the Germans. The Stryker's gun rotates his 25mm turret just as an American APC does the same, both opening up on the tank.
"Keep those shells on the tank Corporal, he cannot withstand them!"
The tank is taken out by the American MGS, and with all clear, the German APCs continue to the Staten Island Ferry terminal ahead of the Americans
"Even the island they control is not safe from the south, this is surely a combat zone if I've ever seen one."
Aleksy gets up, and starts to regain his focus and hearing, and hops inside a Bradley IFV as it arrives at the Ferry Station
"Alright, stock up on ammunition and let's go, we have to leave the vehicles behind. And that means we also have to destroy them so they do not enter enemy hands. We have support of the USS Ticonderoga Cruiser to support our movement onto Manhattan, but that means we have to move fast." says Aleksy's Sgt. First Class as he gestures to a cache of ammunition
Aleksy grabs 10 EMags of ammunition and loads them onto his MOLLE rig, and steps onto the ferry as the other soldiers do the same around him
Volker and his men arrive at the terminal and offload, quickly jogging to the ferry just as it's preparing to leave. The Germans step aboard and sling their weapons, preparing for the ride to Manhattan
"Private, I have never been a fan of boats, but hopefully this won't be all that bumpy."
With this, Volker moves through the soldiers, looking for anybody from the 173rd
Aleksy happily sees the borough of Manhattan in front of him, but then looks to see an Mi-28, coming in fast
"OH FUCK"
The Mi-28 starts riddling the ferry with 7.62 rounds, killing men and blowing holes in the hull
"WHERE THE FUCK IS THE TICONDEROGA!"
Aleksy looks over to see the once great crusier sinking as a PRoNT Patrol Boat speeds past
"Shit...."
Aleksy leaps into the Hudson and tries his best to move as quickly as possible as the ferry begins to lean forward

Aleksy notices the USS Arleigh Burke, an NA(N) Frigate steaming at full speed to assist them, and thanks God for a second chance as the Mi-28 is hit with a Sea Sparrow missile from the Arleigh Burke, and Aleksy awaits the frigate to arrive
As Volker approaches a Corporal with a 173rd patch, the ferry is rocked as an Mi-28 gunship riddles it with fire. Not wanting to swim, Volker grabs an American Private.
"Where do you keep the rockets?"
"What sir?"
"Stinger missiles, where are they!"
"promenade deck sir!"
"Thank you private!"
Volker whistles for a few of his men as he runs to the deck, once there he finds a stack of crates containing Stingers, and throws the lid of the top one as he pulls out and readies the launcher. Aiming at the helicopter, he waits for lock as it comes in for another pass. The Stinger soars from it's tube and strikes the gunship just above the cockpit, taking out the rotors and engine in one fell swoop as a missile from a nearby frigate helps to turn the chopper into scrap metal . With this, Volker ditches the launcher and rallies his men as an American PT boat squadron arrives at the derelict ferry

Rich takes the elevator down to the lobby.
It looks like a disaster zone. Papers are scattered about everywhere, politicians from all over the republic scurry about, trying to find the proper claims area or form or what have you. A dirty, unkempt man of about 30 comes up to him in a frenzied manner.
"Mayor! MAYOR STRIKE! Oh god, thank god, thank the lord" the man exclaims
"What do you want, Doherty?"
"Mayor Strike, please, I'm your friend, right? Oh, please mayor, just let me take up my old post."
"And why would I want to do that?"
"Because we both want the same things! Industry! Liberty!-"
Strike walked off before he could hear the rest of Doherty's speech.
The elections held two months ago already decided his fate. Not surprisingly, the people of Chicago overwhelmingly chose the tea party after the significant progress Strike brought them.
The mayor walks out the doors of the city hall, and gets in the military issued Ford F-150 kept waiting for him outside at all times.
"I need to get to the post office, Stan." Strike tells his driver
"Of course, mister mayor."
The grand Arleigh Burke arrives at the site of the disaster, and drops ropes to the men in the water, and Aleksy notices that his HK416 is no longer firing.
"Dammit, it's waterlogged."
Aleksy tosses his rifle into the water and climbs up the rope, greeting the Sailors aboard as he warms up from the cold Hudson
The American ship comes alongside the ferry and the men leap across to safety. Volker climbs aboard the frigate, and spots the man he was originally going to talk to. rather soaked from his jump into the river. Volker makes his way to the man
"Greetings Corporal, are you with the 173rd Brigade?"
Making his way to a Zodiac CRRC, Aleksy gets four men to hop into the Zodiac, as he pilots it to the South of Manhattan
"Alright men, I need a damn rifle. Secure a beach-head while I look for a cache"
Aleksy heads to the Flare he sees in the distance, a signal of an ammo drop
Seeing the American simply walk away, Volker finally grows impatient and grabs another man with a 173rd patch
"Are you with the bloody 173rd Brigade!"
"Yes sir, I am"
"We've been trying to link up with you all day, me and my men"
"I didn't know sir"
"your CO's weren't informed?"
"No sir, not that I know"
"Ach, this is fucked up. Let's go men, we might as well go to Manhattan now"
With this, Volker and his men pile into a trio of Zodiacs and head off for the South of Manhattan, angling toward the flare on the beachhead
Aleksy's men wait for him as he arrives at the Cache, grabs the only rifle there, a Magpul Masada, and heads back to the flare, awaiting the regroup of all the men and the arrival of the two regiments of EU troops
The German Zodiacs land on the beach, and Volker and his men step out onto the sands of Manhattan
"I always dreamed of visiting New York City, but never like this"
Finally meeting up with the 173rd, Volker is rather angry
"So these are the men we've been fucking trying to link up with since we landed? All this chasing for nothing I say! We've been signaling and trying t flag you down all day long, and yet you've failed to notice us? We're you not told of our arrival?"

Roope jumps onto an M1A3 Abrams with the rest of his squad as it leaves the base at JFK Internatonal Airport. Their mission is to assist an armoured platoon as it assaults Manhattan in support of American and German infantry launching an amphibious assault. Roope watches civilians go about their daily lives as he rides the tank through the streets of Brooklyn, amazed that they are still able to do so.
Aleksy and his men are given orders to fortify Times Square as best as possible with sandbags and wait for reinforcements as the CCO assault begins
Volker and his men also receive these orders, and Volker rudely pushes past the Americans
"I'm not chasing you Yankees around this time"
Volker tells his men to gear up

The short ride brings Mayor Strike to the old post office building. For years a giant husk of a building in Chicago, it now serves as the headquarters of the Republic's military. Scattered about is a mixture of USA national guard equipment, and Republic Ford Trucks. The mayor's truck finds its way to the entrance.
Mayor Strike gets out of the truck, telling the driver to wait someplace out of the way. He then proceeds inside the building, clears security, and takes the elevator to the war board room.
Aleksy's men begin pilling sandbags and set up positions as CCO scouts begin being seen in Central Park, and the effort is rushed.
"Quick, we have to hold this square!"

Wayne watched as a section of M1A2s raced across the plain near a training facility in Jackson, Ohio.

"These green guys are starting to shape up." He said to himself, after seeing a round of fire from the advancing armor, hitting the large, black silhouettes.
Wayne turned back to his pile of strategic maps, trying to develop cunning plans in case the new ACW hits the fan... He considered if the South was to be rampant and what any countermeasures he could take.
"You really think a bunch of Southerners can defeat us? We're all highly trained in our respective nations, they are but stupid rednecks!"
At this moment a bullet snaps past Volker's head, and with this the battle for Times Square begins. Volker turns and raises his G11, switching the selector to burst as he sights down a target manning a Browning M2. He pulls the trigger, and almost as a spear three rounds blast from the gun, drilling the enemy gunner in the chest. The gunner's loader also receives a burst, and then Volker turns to focus his fire on other enemy targets

As the American tanks cross the Brooklyn Bridge, they turn north, towards Times Square. The new orders were to assist with defending that area against someone, and Roope really didn't care who. All he cared about was going home to his family and his girlfriend, Katariina. He looked at a picture of his girlfriend for a few seconds until the American tanks reached their destination. He quickly stuck the picture in the elastic band around his helmet and formed up with his squad.
Aleksy grabs his rifle and enters a kneel, waiting for the first shots to be fired. Looking down block after block, he can see a group of M1014 HMMWVs in Californian Livery headed for them full speed, and he grabs a Carl Gustav Recoiless Rifle and awaits them to enter range as the rest of the Anti-Armor squad picks up their AT4s and Javelins
Volker continues to fire his G11, cutting down Californian soldiers left and right with salvo bursts. He pauses for a reload, sliding in a fresh magazine and charging the gun before he spots enemy Humvees coming their way
"Enemy vehicles, take them out!"
Two of Volker's men shoulder AT4s, and the rockets fire in unison with many other American launchers and shortly after the rockets from the numerous launchers tear into the vehicles

As the Sergeant in Roope's squad is briefing them on their objectives, they begin to take fire. Roope takes cover behind one of the American tanks, goes to return fire with his RK95 and realizes it's on safety. He flicks the selector to semi auto and is then interrupted by his Sergeant.
"Roope, take this M72 and take out that Humvee over there."
Roope takes the M72 his Sergeant gave him and arms it. He lines up a shot on the Humvee and fires. The rocket scores a direct hit on the Humvee, killing or severely injuring everyone inside.
Suddenly, a mass of CCO, NA(S), and Texan Infantry begin assaulting their positions, but then begin fighting each other, and the order is given to pull out as an F-35 JSF squadron is en route to level Times Square
"Pull back men! You heard them!"
Aleksy abandons the Charlie G and runs out of Times Square as fast as he can and heads into a Subway Station
Volker cheers as the Californian Humvees go up in flames, and lauds his men for the great shooting. But as he turns to resume defense, he hears a worrying sound in the distance, and looks up in time to see a pair of Mi-28 gunships, loaded for bear and with guns just starting to blaze
"Enemy helicopters above, take cover!"
The heavy cannon rounds from the gunships rip into the barricades, killing and injuring men left and right. Volker takes a chunk of shrapnel in the head and is knocked unconscious

Rich walks into the room.
It looks much like his office with papers everywhere, but the war board room is slightly longer, has no windows, and also filled with people.
"Good morning, gentlemen." Strike says to nobody in particular
At once, everybody in the room stops what they are doing, in an attempt to inform the mayor of every single one of their problems.
"Easy now, men. We all have jobs to do. I'm just here to talk with the general."
At this, Rich walks through the room to General Robinson's office.
Strike skips straight to business. "General. What's the latest?"
"Mayor. Great to see you. As you know, the war is not letting up. We got Californian armour advancing through I-70 on their way to New York, but they don't really seem to care too much about us. Same story with the Texans. Our real problem seems to be the southerners. Reports of scouts are increasing by the day, and we really think they're poised to invade. We just don't have enough good men out there."
"What about Maycomb?"
"We haven't heard from him in weeks."
"Weeks? Are you joking? Don't you think that's a problem?"
"Ha! You don't know the half of it, mayor. One missing general is nothing compared with the fact that we're being invaded from all fucking sides, and we don't have the equipment to hold them off."
"Just try him again, will you?"
"So what was the mission again"
Gerard looks over at his spotter, Wesley, with a look of amazement as Wesley looks through his binoculars looking over a target
"God damn, sometimes I think your just stupid"
"You know I'm kidding, we kill their field commander and we get out"
"Yep, that all we have to do, guys been hiding in that damn building though"
"In due time"
Just as Wesley finishes his sentence the commander appears speaking into a radio
"And there we go. Range?"
"170 Meters"
"Wind?"
"7 Miles per hour east"
Gerard looks through his scope and fixes his target, looking through his scope right at the commander, Gerard then takes his finger off the side of the gun and slows it towards the trigger.
Volker wakes up with a throb in his head and an American corpse bleeding onto him. He pushes the body off and looks around, only desolate vehicles and bodies all around as an F35 swoops ahead to make a final check after the airstrike a squadron of them had carried out. Volker is amazed he survived, but sees that he was wedged under some sandbags and a corpse, and that in tandem with the non directional strike meant his survival.
"I am thankful to be alive, but where are my men?"
Volker spots six of his men dead around the barricade and one just outside of it, the rest having escaped to shelter with the NA [N] troops. He realizes he is now alone, in the heart of a warzone, abandoned by his men and allies and left to die.
"This is turning out to be a bad day for me. hopefully the Americans will send a rescue helicopter, but more likely I will be marked as dead as my fallen men, never to be rescued and most likely never to be seen again"
With this, Volker begins to collect any ammo, grenades and supplies he can for the trek back to friendly ground

Mayor Strike pushes the speakerphone button on the telephone.
"General Maycomb. This is commander Strike. Listen. Intel says the south is getting a bit feisty down there, what can you tell us?"
Meanwhile somewhere in central Arizona...
Galtinback is driving down the dirtied former interstate highway in his Ford Escape with one of his assistants, Dr. Johann Paulson. Paulson turns to Galtinback and queries him about the destruction across the country.
"So...John...do you think it will end soon?"
"End?"
"Do you think that the country will come back together and some sense of Americanism will take over again or what?"
"No, no, not at all. If anything happens, we'll just see the rise of another massive government, empire, whatever you want to call it, just like the last one, with another spineless demagogue in power. If there is anything to do, it's to bring about a renaissance if you will, a renaissance of Americanism. It's about time we embrace our roots and find fit characters to take up the sword of liberty and to bring it to all who are oppressed by these demagogues..."
"...what about here? Out by the Gulch?"
The Gulch, a society started by Galtinback, consists of several of society's greatest innovators. Most of whom were either exiled here by the oppressive governments or they came here of their own free will. The Gulch is a perfectly modern city in the middle of the former American wastelands. Powered completely by clean energy, fed by self-contained crops, and kept clean by the free markets, the city is complete anarchy...but oddly enough...the anarchy...works. The absence of any real government has allowed the citizens to propel themselves into the twenty-first century rather quickly, without any hinder. If there were to be any leader, it would easily be Galtinback.
Only 100 km away is the former city of Pheonix. After many oppressive "immigration reforms" in 2010, Pheonix descended into great corruption and is a police state, but it is said that the citizens of the city are looking for a new horizon to turn their eyes to.
Paulson turns to Galtinback...
"Where are we going anyway?"
"Pheonix."
Volker walks through the now abandoned streets, G11 at the ready, but only seeing death and destruction all around him
"Kosovo was bad, but that is a simple scuffle compared to the carnage in this nation today. I cannot say why it happened, but I wish for it to be resolved soon"

"Clear to fire"
Gerard looks down his scope placing his finger on the trigger. He steadies his scope pointing very slightly off to the side of the commanders head. Gerard takes a breath in and hold it steading his sight dead on it's target.
As the commanders stands close to the glass window screaming into his radio Gerard takes the shot. Raining glass mixes with blood as the commander falls back dropping his radio against the floor. The commander lays dead on the ground with a pool of blood beginning to form and his radio laying on the ground by him
"Target confirmed dead"
"Lets go, we got about 10 minutes before this place is swarming with New American troops"
Gerard takes his M110 placing it on his back and taking out his radio
"Target dead HQ, awaiting extraction"
"Confirmed, Blackhawk will arrive at the roof of Metlife building 2 blocks form you in 2 minutes, don't be late" the voice over the radio
"Lets go, we got to get the the Metlife roof in 25 minutes"
Gerard and Wesley begin going down the stairs of the building reaching the main hall with it's boarded up main entrance

The mayor sets the phone back in its cradle.
"Well general, what do you think?"
"I think we're pretty damn lucky, is what I think."
Upon reaching the borders of Pheonix, Galtinback and Paulson see the lights of police cruisers.
"Checkpoints, fun."
Upon reaching the checkpoint, a large officer in a leather police jacket approaches the Escape with a 1911 on the right side of his hip, and an AK-47 slung over his shoulder.
"May I see your pass?"
"We're visitors, we have no passes." Galtinback was already irritated, what gives them the right to tell him where he can and can't go?
"Hmph, well, if you stay more than a few hours, report to your local police kiosk, station, department, or centre, they'll get you started on a pass."
Galt continued on after a search of his escape for weapons, tobacco, immigrants, alcohol, pornography, religious materials, and anything else the state prohibited.
The streets of Pheonix were dirty. Every corner had a police kiosk, or plenty of security cameras...or both.
Occasionally, there would be a courageous citizen to walk the streets after dark, but that was usually to escape some randomly enforced crime.
"John, where are we going?"
"Straight to the top Johann, to city hall."
Galtinback parked the Escape outside the barb-wired, police fortified building known as city hall. It was dark.
Continuing through the city, Volker comes across Grand Central Station to find a four man squad of CCO troops standing out front. He takes a frag from his vest and pulls the pin, letting the safety lever drop as well. He waits two seconds and throws it at the men fifty feet from him. His timing is perfect, as the grenade explodes in midair between the men, devastating them and killing them all with shrapnel and the pure concussive force.
"I should throw for the American baseball teams!"
Volker chuckles to himself, and then wanders on, grabbing a Pepsi from an abandoned vendor's cart as he goes. He walks past the beautifully designed Chrysler Building, then he comes upon the Metlife building, oddly hearing what sounds like a helicopter. He peers into the sky and spots a Black Hawk in the distance. It flies over and lands on the Metlife roof.
"Another Black Hawk? The Americans actually sent someone for me, how gracious of them!"
Volker jogs to the front entrance of the Metlife building and steps through the shattered glass doors. He tries the elevators in the lobby, but they're out of action, and so he begins his trek up the stairs to the helicopter and ultimately safety.
Gerard looks through a hole in the planks and sees a city with destroyed cars and cars still on fire, he begins to take off one of the planks to go out only to hear a NA Abrams turning the corner crushing cars with troops walking by it
"Shit! We got an Abrams tank right out on the street with soldiers walking along side it"
"So whats the plan then"
"Well when it turns the corner we run to the 7/11 thats over on the other block then we run to the Metlife building"
"Got it"
Upon exiting the Escape, Paulson and Galtinback noticed something. It was raining.
"Of fucking course..."
After entering the first checkpoint to the city hall, the security allows passage. On a small screen behind the security desk, Galtinback can make out the image of Manhattan in flames with the little "LIVE" icon in the corner.
"Gotta love the media...even now they still are working their best to destroy this country..."
At that second, Galtinback sees a C-130 enter the picture, with an American flag painted on the side. The plane slams into the Metlife building. The guards watching the screen jump mildly in horror.
Galtinback continues on, actually happy to be out of the US.
Coming to the roof door of the Metlife building, Volker strong arms it open, and comes out to see the Black Hawk idling on the roof. But to his surprise, the two pilots and two crew chiefs inside are not New America North soldiers, but those of the CCO
"Scheitza!"
With this, Volker raises his rifle just as the co-pilot notices him out of his window. He fires a burst which tears into the mans head, then turns and delivers four more, shredding the crew chiefs in back. The pilot gets out and opens fire on Volker with his M9, but to no avail, as he to is chopped down by 4.6mm caseless from the German's rifle
"Well, if I could fly a helicopter I'd be alright, but now all I have is a large hunk of metal that I have no use for!"
Aleksy and his men surface just outside Grand Central Terminal, with the orders to await a Jolly Green Giant for Extraction in Brooklyn
"Alright men, stay sharp. I want corners checked. We are heading to Brooklyn."

"True. We could be like New York." Strike knocks on wood after saying this. "Still. I'm concerned about defence."
"I hear you mayor, but the fact of the matter is that we just don't have enough resources."
"I'll see what I can do, General."
The mayor turns around and walks to the elevator.
At this moment, a massive explosion erupts from below, and the entire building shakes. Volker peeks over the edge to see the few remains of a military C130 transport plane which has smashed a hole right through the middle of the building
"Scheitza, my luck is horrible today"
Volker checks the other side of the building, and notes the plane, with a wingspan not as wide as the building itself, simply blew a hole right through it.
"The building will not collapse, but surely I cannot make my way down the stairs after that. I must signal someone!"
Volker runs to the Black Hawk and rummages around inside, coming up with some green flares. He pops them and runs to the edge of the roof, waving them around for anyone in the distance who may be able to help him to see.
Orders are given to hold position in Central Park, as the JGG is headed to assist a friendly atop the Metlife building
"Alright men, secure an area for the Heli to land. We're getting out of here."
Volker waves the flare for a solid five minutes, and then comes down off the edge, not wanting to fall or be shot by enemy soldiers. He walks back to the Hawk and digs inside again, taking an M1911A1 off the co-pilot and a custom Cold Steel combat knife off one of the crew chiefs
"Thank you gentlemen, I will treat them as my own"
Volker then waits, hoping for any form of rescue now
Just as Gerard and Wesley reach the 7/11 they look up to see a huge C-130 crash into the Metlife building, setting it ablaze and seeing a Uh60 fall off the roof crashing to the ground.
"Fuck! That was our fucking escape."
Just as Gerard finishes his sentence his radio crackles and he picks it up
"Sargent, that C-130 was one of their cargo planes we shot down, we didn't think it would slam into the building, also as for your black hawk, looks like there was some soldiers in the building and they killed the crew."
"Well what the hell do we do now? We're in enemy territory with no escape"
"15 blocks to the north there is a battalion of Co Op troops fighting against Na troops, if you manage to reach them you should be safe, we're going to call in artillery to cover you escape"
"How long do we have before the barrage?"
"About 4 minutes"
The men watch as the Super Stallion arrives at the top of the building, and opens up it's back hatch
"Alright, we got T-minus 12-minutes before Operation Hammer Down commences. They are leveling the City."

Mayor Strike walks out the doors, looks for the truck, and sees it hiding behind some shipping containers. He walks over, and gets in on the passenger side.
The driver asks "How'd it go?"
Strike just smirks and tells him "You know I can't tell you. We're going to the Boeing building."
"Yes sir."
Volker watches as a NA CH-53 hovers over the roof and opens it's rear hatch. He runs and leaps in as it begins to close, coming sitting position in the middle of the cargo area
"I appreciate the rescue soldiers, you have done your nation proud today"
With this, the helicopter takes off from the roof again

The ceilings of the hallway were high, very high. The floor was marble and there were pillars along the walls. This building was surely built after the fall, rather recently, at least. Between the pillars, periodically, were statues of "great" leaders. Caesar, Napoleon, Adams, Roosevelt, Roosevelt, Kennedy. Fascists mostly. Galtinback was amazed that somebody could idolize these people. He shrugged it off.
At the next checkpoint Galtinback was approached by a measly little man, he looked like a bureaucrat.
"Name?"
"Johnathan."
"LAST name."
"That isn't important."
"Oh yes it is! Security! Get this clown out of here!"
Phoenix police started to approach Galtinback from down the hall.
"I'm simply here to see the mayor."
"Nobody sees the mayor unless I say so."
"Rand. John Rand, that is my name."
The man grumbled, and reluctantly let Galtinback go forth."
Aleksy looks to see the Behemoth of a Helicopter land in the Middle of the Park, and he quickly runs inside with the rest of the Finns and his men
"Alright, where are we headed?"
"LaGuardia. They are leveling the city and we are getting the hell out of here." says the Crew Chief
Sitting in his seat, Volker feels the helicopter land as soldiers pile in
"So you are the men who spotted my distress signal then?"
"Actually, an RQ-1 did, we just got orders from President Adams." says the Pilot
The Helicopter is landed at LaGuardia International, where the men are quickly ushered into a waiting C-5, and a large contingent of men are flown out by Cargo Plane, and the orders are given to the Bombers to let lose, and B-1 and B-2 bombers begin to level Staten Island, as another group begin to attack Manhattan
Wesley sitting down with his rifle out notices green flares atop the metlife building
"There looks like there someone atop that Metlife building, he doesn't look like a Co Op troop"
Wesley takes the shot under-judging the condition and the shot only manages slash the soldiers left leg making him fall the the ground holding his leg
"Don't shot him, it could give away our position, and the barrage should handle him anyways"
Wesley puts his rifle back on his back and him and Gerard begin running outside managing to get 2 blocks before having a Abrams with a squadron of troops turn a corner on them 2 blocks away form them
"Put your weapons down and surrender co-op bastards"
Just as they put their gun down a whistling sound is heard and a artillery shell slams into the tank killing it's crew and the soldiers
The 2 snipers then pick up their weapons
"Lets go!"
On the C-5, Volker finds himself sitting next to a young Specialist, The man does not have the look of a home grown American
"Excuse me my friend, but I can't help but notice you appear to have Slavic features, you wouldn't happen to have been born in a Soviet nation, would you?"
"I was born in Belarus, friend"
Looking back at New York, the City is leveled, and in flames.
"Damn, a great city, destroyed."

Roope runs to get into the helicopter just as it is about to take off. Even though Manhattan is about to be destroyed, he is glad he managed to survive his first battle.
Galtinback entered the Mayor's office. The mayor was infront of the fireplace, smoking a cigarette and enjoying his wine, imported from Italy (even though foreign imports were illegal in most of Phoenix's area).
"Mayor Helsley, I've come a long way to see you."
"Who the fuck are you?"
"Not important, what is important is that you are a slave driver. You need to set this city free. From your worship of the state has come nothing but decay! This once beautiful metropolis is now a shanty town! The greatest technology you have here is the military/police's surveillance system!"
"Fuck off. This is the way it is meant to be! Your liberties, your society, your individualism! Can't you see it is dead? It died with America! Phoenix is the only hope for the badlands! We are a bastion of safety!"
"Lies! America collapsed because of the destruction of liberty! Your society is on the same path! You have sent this area into the dark ages! What are you going to do? Keep on with the state in charge? Pfft. It will get you nowhere! The people should see that their mayor has no clothes, and that their society is going to collapse on their fearful little heads sooner or later! Before it is too late, relinquish your power, before you have a revolution on your hands."
At that moment the sounds of gunfire were heard from outside the complex.
"I thought so, you definitely have the look, and indeed, it was a glorious city I never fully got to appreciate, it will be missed. By the way, I'm Captain Volker Wieker of the Bundeswehr, and you are?"
The C-5 gains altitude and is soon as cruising altitude as it flies away from Manhattan
The C-5 lands not to much later in Buffalo. The orders are to guard a group of ships that are taking Refugees to Canada on a group of US Navy ships

While waiting, he sends a memo to his staff to become much more aggressive in future patrols. Macomb also orders the Lumberjack Brigade to be stationed in Cincinnati (Which happens to be right across from NA(S) territory.

All Factions are competing over the Great Lakes, and Canada is under attack by TPRofT and NA(S).
This is primarily a Dunkirkish battle, with fights also happening in Erie PA and Cleveland OH.
The mayor scrambles to his desk to grab his revolver at the sound of gunshots, believing Galtinback to be a conspirator in this all.
"I knew your type were up to this all! You can't bring down Phoenix! The state has survived the civil war and will survive you and your anarchists!"
Galtinback, thinking quickly, attempts to appease the mayor. He approaches him with his hands in the air.
"Now, think about this for a second, I am a pacifist. If I wanted to come here and kill you I would have by now, but I haven't!"
The mayor considers this thought for a moment but is shaken to the ground when the building is hit by a runaway tank round from the Phoenix police. Galtinback capitalizes on the opportunity and grabs the mayor's left arm and his right hand with the gun.
Galtinback causes the mayor to pull the trigger six times, emptying the gun. At that moment, Galtinback breaks the mayor's wrist. The mayor recovers, and grabs a hot prodding iron from within the fireplace, he lobs it at Galtinback and misses. Galtinback kicks the mayor backwards and into the window, the mayor stumbles to his feet. At that moment, Galtinback grabs a wine bottle and smashes it over the mayor's head, knocking him unconscious.
"Now to get out of this place before it falls down on top of me.."
The detachment of the 173 is sent to Cleveland, to protect the refugees from leaving. The New American North Government has always supported the Midwest, and wishes to keep a good relationship with them, and assists them in protecting the city from NA(S) troops

After a few minutes, they arrive, Strike telling his driver to wait outside as he hurries inside. The receptionist, instantly recognizing him, allows him through the doors which lead to James McNerney's office. He knocks, as a courtesy, then comes in anyways.

All Factions are competing over the Great Lakes, and Canada is under attack by TPRofT and NA(S).
This is primarily a Dunkirkish battle, with fights also happening in Erie PA and Cleveland OH.

Aleksy's men arrive at Burke Lakefront Airport, waiting for their assignment. A group of ships are ferrying people up the Cuyahoga River and to Canada, where they are safe. The USS Cod Gato Class Submarine was also reactivated and is being used as a recon ship.
"Alright men, your orders are to hold Browns Stadium and the Waterfront as best as you can. There is a Light Rail system that provides quick transport from Post to Post as we Evac citizens from Cleveland and it's suburbs. You must hold the city as best as you can. Southern Troops are already incoming from Columbus and are moving fast." says the Major in charge of Cleveland's detachment of Midwest troops

Aleksy looks at the Steamship William G. Mather, a garguantuan Great Lake steamer, running on it's own power for the first time in years.

Aleksy gets orders to set up a defensive position at the East 9th Street RTA Station, and hold it as long as possible as Amtrack Trains are bringing in more people by the minute

Captain Wieker has sniper nests set up in the stadium, and soon after 25 snipers using Cheytac M200 Intervention sniper rifles take up position, the Captain being one of them

Well I doubt the CC would just simply fly it's troops across 3 other unions airspaces to attack New York. They would somehow have to have something in Canada to stage such a large attack on a city on the East coast without having any Naval ships attacking as well.

Roope and his squad are ordered to help defend Browns Stadium. They set up sandbags and help prepare firing positions for friendly snipers and machine gunners. Their squad's machine gunner, armed with a PKM, takes up a position fortified by the sandbags.
"Roope, you mind grabbing some extra ammo for me?" Mikael, the squad's PKM gunner, asks.
"You only have the ammo you brought with you."
"I left a few mags out in that American APC that brought us here. Go get them."
Roope leaves the stadium to go get the extra PKM ammo from the Bradley.
Volker looks through the scope and spots a CCO armored column moving up a main road, loaded for bear and ready to rock
"Listen up men! I have a CCO armored column inbound from the east, we've got tanks, APCs and plenty of troops. Wait until they're in good range, then open up with everything you have got!"
The NA(S) troops arrive in the City, and begin engaging the units that have taken up position in the Southern Suburbs as the last train of civilians arrives at Cleveland Amtrak
"Alright, load these people up, we do not have much time before we are over run!"

Roope comes back with the PKM ammo. He takes up his position and sees an enemy armoured column coming down the road.

Aleksy picks up his trusty Carl Gustav and aims it downrange as the news is given that the suburbs is overrun
Volker takes up his Intervention opens fire, firing five rounds that all hit their make and take the lives of NA South soldiers. He then abandons his rifle as it is clear there are to many troops and picks up a Carl Gustav M3, firing it at an enemy Patton tank. The heavy rocket impacts the tank and rips a massive hole in it, destroying it and killing a few people taking cover by it.
"The Swedish, they never fail to impress me with their rocket launchers!"
The Captain then picks up an M240 machine gun and sets it up on a sandbag, racks the charging lever, and starts raining down hell
Aleksy notices a group of Patton Tanks closing in on them from both sides.
"Oh god, Somebody get a Javelin shot on those things!"

"Indeed. Of course, the problem is that we could not acquire some of the more...advanced technology. They're going to be bare bones, no frills aircraft. Effectively, we're back to the first generation."

From above, Volker spots the Patton tanks, and with an order to the men in their perches, rockets rain down from the stadium and smash into the tanks,
decimating the outdated armor with modern power. Volker then gets on his radio.
"You can thank me for that later my Belorussian friend!"
Volker takes up his M240 again and continues to pump 7.62 into the advancing troops, who seemingly have no end
When the all clear is given, the Goodtime III and Nautica Queen Civilian Ships leave port, filled with Civilians, as well as hundreds of other small ships.
"Alright, all we have to do now is support the Mather as it steams away! Keep firing!"
Not wanting to reload, Volker simply links all the belts in his possession, firing short controlled bursts to chop down the incoming enemies. Despite killing literally hundreds, they keep coming, and eventually the two forty runs dry
"My Bravo is down, need ammo!"

Suddenly, a Patton tank gets a clean hit on the Mather's stern, blowing a 10x10 ft hole in it.
"FUCK! THEY HIT THE MATHER!"
"Ach, they hit one of the evacuation ships, keep up the fire men!"
Volker pours on the fire with his two forty and Intervention, but eventually he is completely out and has to switch to his G11, knocking down enemies with salvo bursts
"Shit, we're going to be over-run! Where are the reinforcements!?"
Aleksy begins leaping down from his post in Browns Stadium, and looks at the only method of escape. An Amtrak train
Volker grabs his G11 and abandons his post, running for the Amtrak train as fast as his legs will carry him
"I always hated trains, but if this one saves my ass, I'll rethink it"
Galtinback runs down the halls of the castle-like building, and finds a hole in a wall blown by a stray round. In the streets it seems that a riot has broken out into a full blown revolt. Paulson, having stayed with the Escape, seems to be leading the rebellion.
"The fuck Paulson!? I said I didn't want this to turn violent!"
"The citizenry attacked the courthouse, blew the dome right off the damn top! Now is our opportunity!"
Another stray round strikes the police HQ, and the rebels scurry in attempts to gain control of Police Equipment, including several M1A1's taken from the Border Patrol after the Fall.
A small group of rebels approaches Galtinback and shakes his hand.
"We've heard of your initiative in the Gulch, but we haven't been able to get out of the city to join it. My name's Greg, I served in Iraq until I saw it was a sham and then disappeared into the desert here to avoid that crime. This is Kirk, he worked at Boeing before the Fall, as a head engineer."
"Welcome, what have we here?"

Transportation doesn't have to realistic. But I think using it for everything else would make things more regular. As far as battles go, it's not a race. We should be enjoying these kinds of things, instead of rushing through them. Just my humble opinion.

Mayor Strike finally prepares to leave his Lake View home. He woke up 5 hours ago, but has been tied up with email and phone calls since then. As he walks out the door, he sees his driver and quietly curses to himself.

"No problem...not like I'd be doing anything better anyways..."
"Sorry. Let's just go to the office, and you can get some lunch."
"Sure."
They head south back to town hall, taking lake shore drive. As they ride down the nearly empty street, Rich gazes out at the lake at the dozens of oil platforms visible in the distance. Midwest Petroleum was quick to form after the deregulation of Chicago, and exploratory drills yielded large reserves. It helped bring oil prices down in the Midwest Republic to just $500 per barrel. In Chicago, electric public transportation is the best way to get around, but it is still wildly expensive to get around anyplace else. As a result, people flocked to the cities, and farmers were forced to revert to horses.
Slowly, the Steamship William G. Mather continues out into Lake Erie, but at the expense of a slow speed because of hull damage.
"Quick, get to the train!"
Aleksy jumps in the parked Lake Shore Limited train, and waits for the rest of the guys to follow, and when everyone is in, he starts the train and heads westbound
"Alright, now it's time to rest. Everyone get ready because I don't even know where we are going."

"Mayor, our new shipment of tanks is in from Lima. About 200 of them." General Robinson says this with an air of confidence, as if there were no more problems left in the world.
"What the hell do you have them here for?"
The general frowned. "Sir, you probably didn't know this, but...our home defence force was leaning on the verge of nonexistence. We were counting on our perimeter defences to do the job, but...after Cleveland, we're not taking any chances."
The mayor turned irate. "Yes, general, I did know that. What I don't know is what the hell happened in Cleveland. Mind filling me in?"
"Cleveland fell, sir. I'm sorry, I thought you were aware."
"No I wasn't fucking aware! What happened?! Where are the people?!"
"The Californians and South launched an assault at the same time. The people were evacuated to Canada."
"Canada? Who authorized that?"
"To my knowledge, it was the North and Europeans, sir."
"The north...I never trusted them. Bunch of dirty socialists if I've ever seen 'em. But they play nice. And the last thing I need is more enemies. I guess I'll give the benefit of the doubt and call it humanitarian. Now as for Cleveland- What the hell happened?"
"They came too fast, sir. They came through with momentum from New York, and just plowed through the thin lines in that area."

The Train arrives at a Northern Base, and the orders are given to the 173rd to parachute in support of the Midwestern Defense of Fort Wayne, Indiana
"Alright, let's load up men"
Aleksy grabs an HK416 and hops onto a C-130 Hercules
Volker climbs into the C130 as well, smirking to himself at the American's inferior 416 rifle
The C-130 takes off, and 15 minutes later is above Ft. Wayne, and the order is given to jump, and Aleksy grabs his rifle and leaps out of the plane
"SS,DD."
Aleksy opens his parachute and floats gently to the ground, and meets up with Midwest troops not much later
Volker jumps, but as he goes to pull his chute, it fails to deploy. Frantically he tries to pull it before going to his reserve. This pulls on the fifth try, but barely soon enough, as Volker smacks rather hard into the ground next to the Mid West troops, slowed down by a half deployed chute. He is alive, but knocked cold by the fall
Aleksy and his men are given orders to man a 105mm Howitzer post that is set up a few miles into the city in order to shell the incoming South before reinforcements arrive
Lying in the field, unnoticed by the Midwest or 173rd troops, Volker is helpless, and while he is not seriously injured, his spine was shocked, and so he is temporarily paralyzed

"What is it, General?"
"Sir, we have substantial numbers of Southern troops moving in on Fort Wayne. The area is heavily defended, but they are asking for resources."
"What are the numbers there currently?"
"6,000, including three armored battalions, and two others making their way down from Cleveland."
"What do we have to spare?"
"Well, nothing, sir. Resources are fully allocated elsewhere."
"Allocated my ass. This one is too close. Send half of the 313th in from Indianapolis. That should raise their numbers enough."

Wesley and Gerard grab there new vectors and eye them idoly looking over them, as they then sit down the lady on the screen begins to talk
"Also you two are going to be parachuting down to be the fireteam"

Aleksy notices an unfamiliar sight, a Chinese Scout truck comes over the hill
"Wait, that's not right...."

Wesley and Gerard stand up with there chutes ready and move towards the loading door. The door opens and air slams into the cabin feeling refreshing to the 2 men.
Gerard looks over to a red light waiting to see it turn green and begin there night descent into. The light turns green and Gerard jumps first feeling the air rushing past him with Wesley jumping right after him. They then deploy there chutes 10 seconds later and landing safely on the ground with the Osprey flying off.
"Alright first parts done, now time to reach the fireteam, they're 5 miles away form our position to the west, lets go and meet up with them"

A javelin...on a truck.... they make bullets for a reason.... but yeah, what Kane said.
After many hours of bloody fighting, the provisional government of Arizona and Phoenix surrendered to the rebels. The majority of Arizona was once again a free state.
One of the rebel leaders approached Galtinback.
"Sir, would you like to be our new head of government?"
"No, in fact, I say, do away with the government! See what government has brought you? Government is the negation of liberty! If it were done away with, we'd have a free state with free citizens! Anarchy isn't about wearing black and throwing bombs, it's about freedom! If we must call ourselves anything, I say, the Anarcho-Capitalist Land of Arizona. But no government! Our citizens shall rise up and out of their own ingenuity, they shall build a new society that is cleaner, safer, and freer than the last!"
And with that, the Anarcho-Capitalist Lands of Arizona was born. A gold and black flag was raised above the largest building in Phoenix.
It was not long before PMCs began to prop up, and the citizens began to employ them for protection.

Gunners around him open fire as Gunships engage each other and NA(S) paratroops are shredded by Flak Guns in the night sky.
"Keep firing! They can't continue this infantry charge for long!"
Suddenly, the faint rumble of caterpillars can be heard, and the Armor of the New American South Army appears o'er the horizon. Fifty-some Patton tanks and Abrams coming in full speed. The call for Gunship and A-10 support is put out, but they will not arrive for another 10 minutes.
"Alright, they can't be here for ten minutes! Load the 105! Do whatever you can to slow their advance! We cannot lose this city!"
The men around him jump into action, firing shells like a well oiled machine
A silver Escape pulls up outside of what appears to be a battle zone.
The ACs get out of the SUV, Galtinback looks through his binoculars.
"Shit."

"I don't think we're going to go find our man in there..."

"*Sigh*...grab the guns...start up the truck..."
A few tanks are taken out before a trio of A-10 Warthogs and a group of Cobras and Apaches arrive, mopping up whatever they can. However, due to their late arrival, the city takes heavy damage at the line
"Alright, I'm sure the next offensive should begin in morning."
Aleksy slouches over and heads to sleep, hoping that tomorrow's battle will end quickly.

Half of the 313th armored division finally arrives from Indianapolis, with 35 brand new Abrams rolling alongside them. They were a force of about 5,000, most of them carrying MAR-20s. They are lead by Colonel David B. Harrison.
The 173rd holds well, and finally the enemy is crushed, and is only sending a few more companies before retreating
"Alright, here is the last few of them! Take them out and we can push them back!"
The 313th and 173rd easily capture the 4 companies that were left, and hold the city.
"Alright, good, let's mop up."

The Siege of Cleveland:
After a few weeks of holding the Steel-Making city, the South has key supply chains that run from West Virginia up through Chillicothe and Akron to Cleveland. These supply routes have been cut of with the Northern Destruction of three bridges over the Ohio River and Erie Canal. Fifteen Divisions of Northern Alliance Soldiers have encircled the City, with the NA(N) Navy encompassing Lake Erie. The main enemy force is located along the Suburbs of Westlake and Euclid, which are the West and East extreme suburbs of Cleveland, respectively. The Cuyahoga River will be the place of insertion for DEVGRU and STS (SEAL Team SIX). The goal is to quickly neutralize the Enemy Force in Cleveland and force them into Columbus.
(Double post is to kick off battle)
DEVGRU Zodiacs land at the Cuyahoga River, and quickly and silently disable enemy Radar and disables the SAM Network securing Cleveland, as it was hastily put on one network.

Rich presses the button on the reciever, and calls Mr. McNerney.
Waking up in the field, Volker gets up and looks around, seeing nothing but flames, some destroyed vehicles and dead bodies around him and in the distance. Volker wonders what happens, than suffices that when he was knocked out by the fall, he must have simply been mistaken for a corpse.
"Now I am stuck in a fucking field surrounded by nothing but death and destruction, what am I to do!"
Volker makes his way to an abandoned Stryker APC and climbs inside, closing the hatches manually, then sitting down inside to attempt a distress call
"This is Captain Volker Wieker of the Bundeswehr on loan to the New American North Army, I have been left behind in a previous battle ground. I am unharmed but alone, and I request an evacuation ASAP"
With this, Volker sits back, pulls a Pepsi from his pack, and waits for a reply
Near Ft. Wayne:
The Ford Escape pulls up along the road, the tattered remains of a CCO unit lay bloodied by the side of the road. Galtinback gets out of the SUV and examines the remains.
Galtinback and the other Anarchists came to Ohio to locate one man, Dr. Phillip Johanbergs, an engineer who wishes to defect from the nations fighting in this civil war. Johanbergs works with energy development, a major issue in the dwindling Arizona wildlands.
Galtinback turns to the men near the truck.
"I think they may have gone to Cleveland..."

The Daly Center Plaza was converted into a heliport to handle executive traffic shortly after Chicago's deregulation. Though the executives have stopped coming, it is still maintained for governmental purposes. As Rich Strike walks out the doors of City Hall across the street, he can see the ex-national guard UH-60 idling on the heliport waiting for him.
Mayor Strike walks across the street, and climbs into the helicopter. He closes the door behind him, buckles up, and puts a headset on.
"All set here, pilot."
"Rodger that, we'll be making a quick shuttle flight to Boeing's Madison Manufacturing plant. ETA: about one hour."
After meeting up with the fireteam and days of surveillance CCO headquarters know of the NA N movement of troops. As the soldiers prepare for lunch one of the soldiers motion for Gerard to come over
"Corporal McCoy, over by the downed Co op transport there seems to be some men looking through the wreckage"
"I've told you, you can call me Gerard. Let me check it out with the m107"
Gerard Moves over towards a crate that was covered by a tarp and removes the tarp to reveal a camouflaged M107. Gerard pulls it out and moves it over towards the edge of his vantage point looking through the sight to see the men rummaging over the CCO bodies
"They don't appear to be New American troops, but they also don't look like co op troops"
Gerard focuses his sight and continues to observe the SUV
The Silver Ford Escape drove forth towards the abandoned freeway.
"John, what's that over there?"
Paulson pointed towards what appeared to be a CCO unit.
"Gah crap...CCO...they shouldn't be too much of an issue...our major focus is going to be New American troops...just keep driving. If they pull us over they pull us over. We're really not hostile towards anyone...yet...so if they let us be we should let them be...but let's just see what happens."
The SUV ran out of gas at that moment.
"Shit."
"HQ we have an unknown transport that appears to be carrying a VIP. What do we recommend we do"
"Sir they appear to have stoped and it looks like their car hasn't started again"
"HQ it appears that their vehicle has stopped what do you recommend we do"
"Corporal it appears that that is a transport carrying a rebel leader from Arizona that is much in the interest. Confirm target and help the target reach safty."

"We're sending a picture of the leader now"
Gerard then receives a picture of the leader
"Target confirmed HQ, we're moving in to assist the target"
Gerard and his fireteam pack up and begin moving towards the broken down SUV

Madison, Wisconsin.
The mayor looks down at the town of Madison as the pilot prepares for landing. The city hasn't changed very much since the war started. There is noticeable growth of industry, sure, but the only real difference was the massive new installation to the north west of Lake Mendota. The new Boeing manufacturing plant streched from its south border at Lake Mendota to its northern perimeter along WI19, a western border along US route 12, and an eastern border of WI113. The entire area had been paved over to make way for the plant and, while many people lost their property, they were offered the original cost of their home or place of business. The compound was comprised of a series of large buildings, and a single airstrip near the south side of the facility. The pilot put the blackhawk down in a grassy area near the entrance.
"Heh, an aviation manufacturing facility and airstrip with no helipads." The pilot joked as the engines began winding down.
Galtinback, Paulson, and the assorted soldiers take notice of the approaching CCO troops. Being non-aggressionists, they expect each other to leave their guns in the car. They don't.
Galtinback orders his troops to unload their weapons and leave them in the Escape.
"Put the guns away, they don't look aggressive. Turn the lights off on the truck. Just wait."
They waited. All the while, the seconds ticked away at Johanbergs' life.
After about 20 minutes of walking the fireteam reaches the SUV, noticing the troops without weapons Gerard puts the safty on his vector and slings it over his back next to his M110. He then moves closer to John
"Johnathan Galtinback I pressume. Your apparantly very important to out organization and me and my squad and been tasked to assist you"
"More like fucking babysit" Wesley smirks and having to take care of the man
"So what were you doing out here Mr. Galtinback?"

"Like Mr. McNerney probably told you, it isn't anything fancy. Mechanical instruments, basic avionics. The Midwest Arms Manufacturing company was able to provide Vulcans, and we can produce missiles here. It's a great plane, and should do wonders for the effort."
"Wonderful, Mr. Rodriguez. Can we see it in action?"
"Of course, sir."
Seeing no sign of rescue, Volker had begun to walk to the nearest freeway marked on his GPS. After miles of trekking, he comes across what appears to be a CCO unit conferring with some men near an SUV on a highway. Not wanting to be seen, he ducks down from about 200 meters off
"I could try an assault, but with only a grenade and my rifle, I'd never manage to kill them all without being hit or killed myself. Maybe I should surrender, and take my chances, or wait and stalk them until the night. Either way, I must get transport and food"
Volker waits in the brush, keeping his gun pointed at the armed CCO men while watching them all
In Cleveland, the 173rd makes a successful landing, and easily captures positions while staying stealthy to assault the main force. Aleksy's squad captures Progressive Field and Quicken Loans Arena, and move North to capture the Airport
"Alright boys, if we can capture the Airstrip, we can be relieved. So let's get to it!"
Galtinback, irritated at the snarky comment from the CCO lackey, responds simply to Gerard's question.
"Business."
It was twilight, the sun on the horizon. It was quiet in this little midwest freeway.
"Our SUV is out of gas, can you spare us some?"
Volker suddenly realizes the identity of the man speaking as one John Galtinback, a known enemy of the NA(N). Volker quietly radios HQ with the intel
"New America North HQ, this is Captain Wieker, I have a Mr. Galtinback in my sights, he is a known enemy, do you wish me to engage, over"
Volker stays prone, and says this transmission in a whisper, knowing anything above that will alert the men not but 200 meters away

Aleksy's unit enters the airfield, only to see a few stragglers which are quickly picked off.
"Alright men, get some R&R, the Big Red 1 is on it's way."

"Roger that HQ, glad to see your all still such limp dicks, over and out"
Volker stays down, keeping his sights locked on the men
Aleksy watches as the C-17s fly in, bringing with them hundreds of fresh soldiers.

One of the SOCOM soldiers looks around
"I feel like we're being watched, even though it's night I don't feel safe out in the open like this"
"You right but we'll be on our way in a bit"
Wesley comes back with 2 5 gallon containers
"Solid copy HQ, and hurry fast with that napalm, over"
Volker stays prone, gun trained, as he awaits the jellied gasoline goodness to toast the vile scum

"Volker, F-4 has Eagle Eye on Target, pop flares and get the FUCK out of there!"
"Roger, popping red flares HQ, over"
With this, Volker chucks a pair of red flares that land around the SUV, then stands and runs off into the woods by the freeway
Meanwhile at the Gulch:
Energy is low. With the new influx of immigrants to the Anarcho-Capitalist Lands, the solar energy panels can't keep the entire population afloat. Johanbergs' assistance is direly needed.
Jihan Muchinsky, president of Gulch Energy, makes a call to Paulson.
"Where the FUCK is our man!? I thought you said that he deferred last week?"
"He did, he did, he's just stuck in the middle of a damn warzone."
Paulson was an engineer in Texas before the fall. He deferred from Texan ranks when he realized that the Lone Star Republic was going to fall to Chinese Hands. His specialty was in covert operations. Whether it be on the books, or on the ground, Paulson was surprisingly good at what he did.
There was a rustle in the bushes.
"The fuck? Isanov, go check that out."
Paulson went back to talking on the phone.
Gregori Isanov was a Russian National who fled the USSR in 1987 to live in California. After the fall, he was at ends with the Californian government and fled to Nevada, where he was exiled to Utah. The Mormons annoyed the hell out of him, so he moved to Arizona in 2013.
Isanov grabbed a rifle, and a flashlight, and went for the nearby brush, cautiously.
Moments later, a few flares fly from the bushes. The Anarcho-Capitalists scatter, Galtinback and Paulson take cover underneath an old overpass.
Isanov empties a magazine towards a dark figure running from the bushes, he's not sure if he hit the figure, it limps away into the darkness.
The F-4 drops a single Napalm Incinerator bomb, which lights up the area around the SUV, but fails to do much damage

"Alright Volker, that's the best we can do for you. Recommend you head East to Cleveland, out."
Just as Volker is about to reply, he spots a man with a flashlight and gun headed his direction. The man fires and hits Volker's leg, but he quickly turns and drops to a knee, bringing his G11 to bear. He then fires a single well aimed burst which tears into his neck and face, killing him on impact. Volker then pops a smoke grenade and runs like hell into the woods
Gerard looks over at the red flares, and quickly knows what there for
"Move!"
The fireteam soldiers move fast while gerard craps john by the arm and runs off. Soon a firebomb falls behind the troops with the troops barely escaping its effective zone
"What the fuck was that?!"
Gerard puts on his NV googles and notices a soldier running away in the opposite direction. He crouches and takes a shot at the fleeing soldier barely knicking his leg and again he fires having the bullet slam through his left palm
"Fuck it! Lets go"
The soldiers continue moving away from the blast

"Volker, are you alright out there? We got a team of Lakota Gunships in your vicinity if you need help."
After running a good 800 meters, Volker crouches down and gets back on his radio, careful to spot enemy movement
"Roger that HQ, hit in the leg twice and the left hand, need evac, and rain down as much fucking hell as you can on these pieces of shit, over"
Galtinback gets from out under the underpass. The CCO troops are nowhere to be found, some equipment is burned, but no bodies, besides Isanov's.
"He was a good man, dammit. The Empire is at it again."
Fortunately for Galtinback, when the Fall happened he was able to get his Escape suped up with explosive resistant plating, bullet proof windows, and fire resistant tires. The tires are melted away from the blast, which occurred about 20 feet away. The engine is surprisingly fine.
"Well...at least everything inside is fine."
Galtinback, Paulson, and the other remaining AC's grab their weapons and begin to look for something to do.
"Well...we can wait and find the CCO guys...or we can walk...or we can find some damn tires."
"Let's look around."
Not five minutes later, a quintet of AH-72 Lakota gunships arrive, and begin hailing fire with their miniguns on whatever they see, and use their rockets to destroy a bridge and car that is parked alongside the road
A UH-72 pulls up alongside Volker, and the man inside orders him to get in, as one of the Lakotas falls to AA fire
"Shit, get those guys out of that Helo and let's go!"
Volker climbs into the helicopter, and turns to a crew chief, making a request
"Please tell me you have something that shoots many big bullets at a time I can use in this thing"
"No sir, we're unarmed. We're just a Utility Helo, used for rescues, like this one."
The Capitalists, being pacifists...generally would just avoid this situation, but irritated, hungry, and now without a vehicle...Galtinback orders one of his men to open up the portable SAM he had been lugging along in the truck.
"I knew that damn thing would come in handy."
The SAM fires and hits a helicopter in the tail blade. At that moment, the Capitalists scatter into the hot, wreckage filled darkness.

The colonel gets off the radio, jumps into an Abrams, and commands the rest of the 313th to move forward to Cleveland.
As the UH-72 hurries eastward, a pair of AH-64Ds appear to assist the Effort, and help for the search of NA(N) bodies
"Alright, let's see what we got on thermal" -Apache Gunner
"Only a few tangos, rip 'em apart"
The Apache begins to fire it's 20mm into the corn, hitting the thermal signatures very accurately, as the other destroys the SUV with it's Hellfires
Volker catches a man with an SAM about to drop it as they take off, and raises his G11, firing three bursts that hit the man in his chest and gut, dropping him and surely killing him
"Take that you bastard, let's go!"
After running a couple of meters, Gerard notices that the VIP is nowhere to be found until he looks over to a underpass. The fireteam moves over to the VIP and his soldiers.
"We're going to get out of this hostile terroitory adn go to one of our forward bases"
Gerard takes out his radio
"HQ we need a transport NOW"
"Roger that we can get an osprey to you in 30 minutes in a position 2 miles away"
"Roger that moving towards the position.
NA(N) Apaches begin pulverize the men as they run, seemingly blowing off limbs

Thankfully, most of the Capitalists were hidden amongst the smoldering wreckage of helicopters and their truck, so their thermal signatures were missed completely.

Apache Pilots switch to Nightvision, and begin to see the corn moving. When they do, they fire 2 Hellfire rockets at it, and a leg and foot fly out of the Corn, and screens of Agony can be heard coming from the Area, even in the canopy
"Fire the 20, don't let him die that way" -Apache Pilot
Just as their about to move Gerard chucks a smoke grenade as far as he can towards the soldiers and the Grenade goes off after being on the ground for a bit obstructing soldiers visions
"Let's go"
The soldiers begin to move at a somewhat fast pace towards their objective going towards trees which camouflages them from the enemy troops

The smooth, shiny metal of the brand new F-15 was almost blinding as it taxiied out of its hanger onto the airstrip. As the test pilot positioned the bird down the runway, he seamlessly began applying thrust. As the engine groaned louder and louder the plane accelerated exponentially faster, a trail of flames shooting from its rear as the pilot threw back the flaps, thrusting tje aircraft into the sky. The sight was so overwhelmingly beautiful, Rich felt like crying tears of joy. This emotion must be the pure embodiment of impending victory and patriotism.
After about 25 minutes of running the soldiers reach their target area and wait for their transport
"I know one of them fucking saw us"
Just as they begin to take out their radio they notice what appears to be a Apache cycling around the area
"I knew someone saw us, take out the SAM"
Just as they begin to take out their SAM, they notice what appears to be a large explosion from the apache and it begins to spin wildly out of control missing its entire tail. Just as it falls out of sight they see a Osprey begin to fly to their position with sidewinder missiles mounted on it
"Hell yeah"
"We see you, coming in hot" the soldiers says over the radio
The Osprey lands with its engines still on and the fireteam along with the VIPs get in and the Osprey takes off going towards high altitude and rushing away form the scene unseen

That's how it's been in EVERYTHING that CCCP has modded though. Remember the huge debacle in DW for so long when nobody could put up with it? It's nothing new.

*Watches the F-15 zip around*
Meanwhile, after hours of fighting, and many losses, the NA(S) holds Cleveland, but loses it's Suburbs
Suddenly Volker's chopper shakes, and then begins to fall to the ground as it is hit by a missile. The pilot attempts to regain control of the battered machine, and manages to pull up just as they come close the the earth, so that the impact isn't extreme. One of the crew chiefs is killed, but besides that the rest of the men are fine save for bumps and scrapes
"Never before have I felt anything like that, but yet again you pilots save my life"
Volker and the crew stay within the crashed chopper as the co-pilot radios for an evac chopper

VWs are shit dude, the quality control and build quality is god awful, not to mention they made the Beetle, which is a terrible hateful little car. But true on the Fords, they're the only US automaker I actually like.
