Hey, guys. In this thread (http://www.gametramp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5) The Gremlins said that they might make a browser game for us. What kind of game do you all think you'd like? Alastor told me he'd like this idea:

My impulse was to make it a sci-fi alternate reality, where aliens had abducted humans for experiments and entertainment and put them on an isolated planet - or portion of a planet. The exterior of the planet is lethal, like the surface of Mars. But inside of a given area there's a shield of some sort that protects the people and allows them to move and act freely. This is the literal "Eternal Keep." Inside they're free to do what they want. Here's the problem. The aliens died. Leaving these ultra-violent and genetically altered humans with robot technology, laser technology and nano-bot technology to shred each other alive.

My idea is a territory building empire simulation. Take preexisting forts and try to claim all of them. You can't build them in order to force battles between players. Still, there would have to be strategy, a lot of "forts," and a lot of units that would require strategy to use effectively.

So now on to the main question: What's your idea, or what do you think of these ideas?

Nice tags.

Voted. Bet you can't guess which one.

A few additional thoughts.

We're thinking of doing something like Urban Dead (http://urbandead.com/map.cgi), but with a different theme.

Bonus points for anyone that can get me Kevan's contact info so we can talk to him (he is the creator of UD, among other things).

I voted for this idea:

I'm leaning towards more of a modern day text adventure. Where the computer asks you:

"You are standing at 35th and Seventh. You see a dirty old man walking around with his dick out in an alley way. What do you do?"

Then you can proceed to say:

"Cross street to escape the crazy old fart."

-or-

"Go over to the man and rip off his dick and force feed it to him"

I'd provide a link of an example, but I think everyone knows what I mean.

Leisure Suit Larry as a text-based game?

I'm skeptical.

no text based games are worth it nowadays, aside this this (http://www.kongregate.com/games/Rete/dont-shit-your-pants)

otherwise I like ala's idea. at least it's a good place to start.

Well maybe nothing as risqué, but a text based adventure is always fun.

Risque is not a problem. It's the ability to expand on content and maintain interest that I was thinking of.

Leisure Suit Larry isn't something I consider to be one of the great series of all time. There simply aren't enough avenues for content under that frame-work.

It's kind of like Kingdom of Loathing, but more limited. Exactly how long can they keep making utterly brilliant puns and play-on-words to make a joke? Probably for a while, because they're obviously some brilliant people. But at some stage it gets tougher or becomes more limited, or the audience simply gets bored of seeing the same type of thing over and over.

I'd like to see a Nation War game were who ever has the most land at each round will win the round and get extra stuff for the next round, rounds can be up to 3 months long and you would get at least 500 turns first start if you win a round you get 500 extra truns not including the already 500 truns you get.

This.

But I'd like to have the option to take a picture of the guy and upload it.

A browser-based DW would be pretty cool to see, but it's limited player accommodation and similarity to other nation-battling browser games probably wouldn't make it worth it...

DW means...?

Sorry, DW is a game that was fairly popular on Pandemic's boards some months ago. It's basically a game where 10 people take up home nations, invade other real-world nations then beat the shit out of each other to get the nations they want, with much guts, gore and drama in between. Lately though it's gotten more 'political', meaning nobody bloody invades other people anymore because they're too big of pussies to take what they want. Even more recently, people've been just forgetting it altogether. It's format is really of a forum game. Here (http://www.pandemicstudios.com/community/viewtopic.php?id=50&p=1), it won't explain much because we don't post rules, but I'm sure you can get the gist of it.

Do you prefer to play on teams or is this an individual thing? Preference-wise I mean?

Are you more interested in running your own nation yourself, or do you prefer to have a group of people run it (CN style)?

Yeah, it's more of a solitary thing. We normally don't allow nations to be governed by more than one person, but it's happened before.

Thanks for clearing that up.

We have a lot to work on already so it will be a while before any of this comes to the top of the project pile for us. Keep the ideas coming. The more detailed and clear they are the better.

A risk like game would be cool. The guy who made CN made a similar game if youre looking for ideas. Or you could make it nothing like his, thats always a good idea too.
