My step dad makes a fairly decent amount of money, a bit over $30 an hour, and my mom works too so that's a second source of income for our family, but do I get my money handed to me? Other than at Christmas and on birthdays, no. I've learned the value of working for your money and saving up. That's why since I've started working at Burger King almost two years ago I was able to buy a new TV, a new computer, a new iPod (actually two because my iPod Touch broke so I had to buy a Nano), an Xbox and in the near future I'll be buying an airsoft gun with ridiculously overinflated Canadian airsoft gun prices where I have to spend at least $300 to get anything useable. How can I do this making minimum wage and only working about 10 hours a week? I know the value of saving money instead of buying fucking designer underwear because it apparently makes girls like you more. And the girls who it does have that affect on are not the ones I want to associate with anyway.

As for myself, I've always saved money for instruments/other stuff I want. I don't understand people that get 20 euros every week and spend it all right away on clothes or alcohol. I get 10 euros every week, and I always save it. And recently I've been earning some money (as well as some fame/infamy) playing gigs with my grindcore band. I would have never thought that playing grindcore has been the most profitable thing I've ever done so far.

We'll even simplify the big issue for most people, let's say I love my job (if I had one) so we can dismiss the ten hours of emotional torture (at a minimum) I might otherwise have to endure each day.
Even if I love my job, I have the normal daily routines which I find mundane; doing laundry, grocery shopping, washing dishes, dusting the house, cleaning, washing the car, and so on.
I also have things in life that bring me a great deal of satisfaction; sitting and talking to friends (and thus building stronger and better friendships), doing something with my girlfriend (creating a stronger relationship), riding my motorcycle (contemplating the life, universe and everything - while dodging everything from soda cans to school buses).
If I'm doing less of the mundane stuff, I can do more of the self-fulfilling stuff. I get more time to think, am more relaxed, and generally enjoy what life has to offer more.
I'm not unique in this regard.

what i know about relationships, from what i can see, is that they can be the most time consuming thing ever.
take my best friend for example. he's been going out with this girl for several months now. she's nice and all, but i know her ex, and he confirms that she is the most needy, attention-craving person out there. first off, my friend and her are together ALL THE TIME, we finish school at around lunchtime, and instead of going home to eat, he has to get out of his way over to HER highschool, pick her up, spend around 3 hours with her, and THEN he goes home to eat.
last week was the worst though. by having this girlfriend, my friend completely stopped hanging around with our group of friends, and whenever there's a concert he has to drag her along to it. one of the only things he hasn't stopped doing is rehearsing with our band. so anyway, last week we decided to rehearse on monday after school. we gave ourselves some time to eat, and we met at the bus station. i get there, and he had brought a backpack with a banana, an apple and a box of cookies. he had been with his girlfriend since we got out of school, and hadn't eaten lunch yet. so we start rehearsing, and when we're done (8:30 in the evening) we finish and go catch the last bus back to town. by this point my friend is starving, he hasn't eaten a proper meal since breakfast. to finish it off, as we were walking back home, he gets a text from his girlfriend. she says she's "feeling lonely :(". so he decides it's best to go out of his way once again to see her, because if he doesn't do it, she'll get pissed. and so he did. he didn't get home until it was 10:30 at night, and didn't eat anything until then.

I would miss the people that I know currently when they would eventually die. And it would get worse. Either you get close to people and lose them, or you never become close to anyone for eternity. Part of what makes life worth living are the people in our lives. The idea of not having beloved people in my life, either because they continually die or because I can no longer bear the pain and grief of losing them, does not make an endless life seem like a desirable thing.
Part of what makes life special is that it is finite. I think that the desire to live life to its fullest would lessen if you knew that you would have infinite chances to do as you wished. Maybe immortality would be brilliant for a while — for the first few hundred years, even for the first few thousand years. But for millions of years? Trillions? It seems as though it would eventually become some kind of endless trap, a trap from which there is truly no escape. What would that even mean? I don’t think I can actually comprehend what it would mean to literally live forever.

Vietnam in HD. Hell yeah. History has really hit home runs with some of the miniserieses(?) they've done lately, IMO. And I do like some of the reality shows that have been going on. Pawn Stars, American Restoration, and Top Shot are the ones I enjoy, I guess. I watch Ax Men sometimes, but the way they over-dramatize everything is ridiculous. Logging isn't actually that thrilling. The same goes for Ice Road Truckers and whatever others they have. They ought to leave the men-in-danger genre solely to Deadliest Catch, because it's the only one I've watched that can really pull it off.
I guess I can understand how they want to expand their market and everything, but it's almost sad that what used to be The History Channel is now condemned to being "History 2", the secondary channel that doesn't come with your basic cable/satellite channel list. But I guess they have to make a profit, too.
To be fair, they're still getting the history across. It's just in a more entertainment-like form than straight documentaries. And honestly, I like it better. It's interesting to see some of the old things that come through at the pawn shop or with the restorations, and some of the interesting weapons they use on Top Shot, while still squeezing a little purely entertainment segments in there too for relief.

What you have to do is keep telling yourself your going to lucid dream before you fall asleep and put yourself into that state of mind.
Also if you feel like your waking up while lucid dreaming, just spin and it will put you back into the dream.

Yeah, it was dumb. XD It wasn't for attention, I just thought it would be fun to do for god-knows-why. And yeah, the LOTR folk started to get on my nerves, too. But to be fair, us talking about PoD to them was probably like them talking about LOTR to us.
We had some annoying as fuck idiots that would post about Mercs 2, and constantly want to know when it was supposed to come out and would bitch about it after it came out.
Those LOTR guys were probably annoying to the cheeky and the others also.
I somehow forgot the massive amount of users that joined the forums post-launch. They all asked the same question or had the same complaint. Dumb newbies that can't use a goddamn forum properly. A lack of users is both the best and worst part of this place, IMO.

Anyway, anyone getting BF3? I won't get it immediately because I just spent money on Gears 3.
i probably wont buy it because last i heard i was forced to use their shitty drm ORIGIN in order to play it, also i don't like how the server finder works, and it's $60.
