Are you a pilot, a doctor, good at knitting or a porn fluffer? If so, someone (believe it or not) gives a shit and wants to ask you questions about it.
Start a thread saying, "Ask me about <interest>." Be an attention whore. Be a megalomaniac. It's okay. People want to know things. If you're qualified to answer them, get your moment in the sun.
Want to know about something? Ask about it. Post a thread titled "Tell me about <interest>."
Someone will answer you. You'd be amazed what the average person knows a lot about.
The only restriction is that if you assert you know enough about a topic to be asked about it, that you actually have a credible background in that area. Don't offer to tell about life as a stripper if you did it one weekend during college or for three months after that one guy banged your sister.

Ask/Tells are not limited to professions. It's any interest, hobby, or trait.
